The oppressions of the AKP-MHP rulership against prisoners in prisons, up to the extent of torture, continue. In a phone call with her mother, Emine Atak, on October 10, Necla said that every night for the past two weeks, the prison director and guards have raided their wards.

Raid the wards every night

Emine told her daughter Necla’s conveys during their phone call as follows: ‘’Necla said that the director of the prison have changed and that the new director disturb them. Necla told me, ‘They raid our ward between 01:00-03:00-05:00 am with the newly arrived prison director. They lay us all down with batons, insulting and swearing at all of us. The guards keep telling us, ‘Now you are finished’. They kept saying to all of us, ‘You will die here,’ one by one. This is what my daughter told me on the phone call. They are already in prison, what do they want from them? They cannot do anything outside, they attack the prisoners in prisons.’’

‘The torture and oppression continue’

Noting that the oppressions in prisons are increasing day by day and they are arbitrary, Emine said: ‘’We are not in the 90s, this is the oppression of what. Even though we have passed those years, the torture and oppression continue. In fact, the oppressions and tortures committed now are worse than they were then. Our children can neither read a book nor write a letter. The guards are constantly preventing.’’

‘Let’s be a voice for our children’

Stating that during the raids on the wards, the male guards threw the prisoner women’s clothes, beds and books on the floor and dispersed them, Emine said: ‘’They commit psychological violence on our children with these oppressions.’’ Finally, Emine called out to all mothers and said: ‘’I am calling out to all mothers from here; Let’s all stand up and be a voice for our children. Let’s find a solution for our children. Enough of this oppresssion. All the prisoners in prison are all of our’s children. Let’s join hands for our children in prison, let’s be a voice for their voice.’’
