URFA - Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar’s ‘’justice’’ vigil in front of the Urfa Courthouse is on its 184th day. Pointing out that his mother’s health problems have increased, Ferit stated that they will go to meet with the prosecutor.
The justice vigil of Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız’s bodyguard and relatives, and Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack with injuries, continues on its 184th day. Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar arrived late in front of the courthouse because they had a weekly phone call with Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been kept in single cell for more than three years in Elazığ Prison.
‘This is a cruelty’
Ferit Şenyaşar, who started the vigil with his mother Emine Şenyaşar in the area called ‘’Şenyaşar family justice corner’’, stated that he and his mother have been continuing their struggle for justice in front of the Urfa Justice Palace for 184 days under persecution. Saying that they have a deserving cause, Ferit said: ‘’This massacre was committed not only to us, but to everyone who has a conscience. We don't just want justice for our own family in front of the courthouse. We demand justice for all those who have suffered injustice. New political parties are establishing in Turkey. These parties say ‘we will bring justice, rights and law’. If political parties are talking about human rights, their chairpersons should come and sit with us one day. My mother’s health problems increased. Yet she sits on the concrete pavement every day. This is a cruelty.’’
‘We will go to meet with the prosecutor’
Ferit said: ‘’We want to meet with the prosecutors who pass by us every day since we started the vigil, but they refuse. The Minister of Justice said that ‘the door of the courthouse is the door of justice’. We will go to meet with the case prosecutor once again today. We will try to get information about our case. Let's see if the door of the courthouse is the door of justice, as the minister said, or it is the door of persecution. I hope it will be a door of justice and prosecutors will meet with us.’’
On the other hand, members of the Şırnak Peace Mothers Council are expected to visit Emine Şenyaşar today.
