Strasbourg Women’s Initiative takes over Freedom Vigil

NEWS CENTER - The vigil carried out for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in front of the Council of Europe has been taken over by members of Strasbourg Women’s Initiative this week.
 
Members of Strasbourg Women’s Initiative have taken over the “Freedom for Öcalan Vigil” held in front of the Council of Europe (CoE) in France city of Strasbourg this week. The initiative members, who took over the vigil on Sunday, will hold the vigil until handing over the vigil to another group.
 
The women emphasized that they will never accept the captivity of Abdullah Öcalan and they called for struggle in order to end the recently aggravated isolation on him.
 
The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil started on June 25, 2012 has been held in front of the building of the Council of Europe (CoE) and Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT). The vigil has been taken over by a group from different cities of Europe and the Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) members take over the vigil at least once a month.
