Editors of Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper jailed

ISTANBUL - The court has jailed the editors of Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper Reyhan Hacıoğlu, Hicran Urun, Mehmet Ali Çelebi and the newspaper’s employee Pınar Tarlak and released the newspaper’s employee Ramazan Sola.
 
Istanbul 7th Peace Court appointed trustee to Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper and Gün Printing House on March 28, 2018 with upon the request of the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office and they were transferred to the Saving Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF). The newpaper’s employees and editors, who were taken into custody on April 4, 2018, were sent to the court today. The newspaper’s employees Nedim Demirkıran and Mehmet Beyazıt have been released under judicial control after their testimony to the prosecution office.  Other five people were sent to the court for arrest. 
 
The 3rd Criminal Court of Peace has jailed the newspaper’s editors Reyhan Hacıoğlu, Hicran Urun, Mehmet Ali Çelebi and the newspaper’s employee Pınar Tarlak, while it has released the newspaper’s employee Ramazan Sola.
