Fadime Çelebi and Onur Hamzaoğlu jailed

ANKARA - Detained politicians were sent to the court for arrest. Two of them, the Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-spokesperson Onur Hamzaoğlu and Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) deputy Chair Fadime Çelebi have been jailed.
 
On February 9, police conducted detention operation against the members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and the Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) just before the 3rd Ordinary Congress of the HDP.
 
In the morning, the Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-spokesperson Onur Hamzaoğlu and Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) deputy Chair Fadime Çelebi, Socialist Solidarity Platform (SODAP) Co-spokesperson Kezban Konukçu, Green Left Party Chairs Naci Sönmez and Eylem Tuncaeli and Socialist Party of Refoundation (SYKP) Co-chair Ahmet Kaya and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Deputy Chair Hacer Özdemir were sent to the court. The court has jailed Onur Hamzaoğlu and Fadime Çelebi and released Kezban Konukçu, Naci Sönmez, Eylem Tuncaeli, Ahmet Kaya and Hacer Özdemir under judicial control.
