AFRÎN - “Don’t dream in vain, these lands are ours, we will never leave them for you,” said the women stating that they will grow the organized peoples’ resistance against Turkey’s attacks on Afrin.

 

Attacks of Turkey and Turkey-backed groups on Afrin have entered the 23rd day. Since the beginning of the attacks, civilians have been targeted and according to data confirmed by UN, 150 people have been killed and about 400 people have been wounded in the attacks. Women of Afrin stated that the aim of targeting civilians during attacks is to scare people and depopulate the area but they will not go anywhere. The women call on all women in the world to be in solidarity with them.

 

‘Their dream is about Afrin but it won’t come true’

 

“Their dream is to take Afrin, but their dream won’t come true,” said Meryem Elî and she criticized the silence against openly attacks. “As women of Afrin, we will do our best to not allow them to enter these lands. Kurdish women are on their way to freedom and they will never accept slavery. They are attacking the will of women in Afrin and we resist against the attacks on will of women as all women,” said Meryem.

 

‘I call for solidarity’

 

Fîdan Eloş is another woman of Afrin and she called on the women of the world to be in solidarity with the people of Afrin against the killing of women and children. “These lands are our lands. They want to take our lands from us and give them to others, we will never allow this. Fighters of YPG/YPJ are our children and we join their resistance,” Fîdan said, “As women from all ages, we don’t let Erdoğan and his army to enter and we won’t.”

 

‘They want to scare the people’

 

Xezalê Sîdo thinks the attacks will fall short of the goals. “They are attacking us by using all methods. They are shelling the villages and cities by using warplanes, this isn’t a war, and this is genocide. They are carrying out a psychological war. They think they will scare us away. But we will not leave, we are here standing by our resisting children,” said Xezalê.

 

‘Our resistance becomes stronger’

 

Stating that Turkey targets the Kurds everywhere, Şerîfe Hesen meanwhile said, “The international communities should take action against those who carrying out this dirty war. They are shelling all people including women and children. As women of Afrin, we make our resistance and organization stronger against Erdoğan and his gangs coming to invade our lands.”
