437th day on Yüksel avenue: 6 detained

ANKARA - Police attacked the people gathered for carrying out “We want our jobs back” action on Yüksel avenue in its 437th day despite police barriers and detained six protesters.
 
Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, who were dismissed from their duty by statutory decree,  are on hunger strike for 317 days to take their jobs back. The “We want our jobs back” action initiated my dismissed academic Nuriye Gülmen in front of Human Rights Monument on Ankara’s Yüksel Avenue and continued by public laborers has entered in its 437th day.
 
Despite police barriers, the protesters wanted to make a press statement in front of the Human Rights Monument and they gathered in Konur Street and wanted to march to the monument; however the police didn’t allow them. The protesters therefore unfurled a banner reading, “Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated on their 317th day hunger strike.”
 
Police attacked on the protesters and detained Nazan Bozkurt, İlker Işık, Gülnaz Bozkurt,  Barboros Aslan,  Selvi Polat and Memet Dersulu
