Return to liberated Raqqa begins

RAQQA-Hundreds of families emigrating from Meshleb Neighborhood have begun to return to their lands liberated by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) after six months of immigration.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched an operation to liberate Raqqa from Daesh. Hundreds of families had to emigrate from Raqqa when Daesh gangs used the civilians as human shield. On October 19, the YPJ released a statement and announced that Raqqa was completely liberated.

The fighters cleared the Meshleb Neighborhood of mines and the neighborhood residents have begun to return to their homes.

Hundreds of neighborhood residents gathered in Reqa El Simur and entered in the neighborhood.

The population of Meshleb neighborhood, east of Raqqa, was around 30,000. The Meshleb Neighborhood was the first neighborhood liberated in Raqqa by the SDF.
