Garibe’s body taken from FMI with slogans of ‘Şehîd namirin’

ISTANBUL - The body of Garibe Gezer, who lost her life suspiciously, was taken from Kocaeli Forensic Medicine Institute with the slogans of ‘’Şehîd namirin’’.
 
Garibe Gezer, who was imprisoned in Kocaeli Kandıra No.1 F Type Closed Prison and was raped and systematically tortured by the guards before, was found suspiciously died in the cell, where she held, yesterday. Garibe’s preliminary autopsy was made at Kocaeli Forensic Medicine Institute (FMI) without her lawyers and the cause of death of her was not included in the autopsy report.

With the first light of the morning, her lawyers, members of the Marmara Association for Assistance with the Families of Prisoners and Convicts (MATUHAY-DER), Free Women’s Movement (TJA) activists, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul and Kocaeli provincial and district organizations set out to go to Kocaeli Forensic Medicine Institute. The mass, who came in front of the Forensic Medicine Institute, was subjected to Criminal Record Check by the police.
 
The slogan of ‘Şehîd namirin’ disturbed the police
 
Afterwards, the women who carried the body marched towards the funeral vehicle with the slogans of ‘’Şehîd namirin’’. The police, who blocked the women, did not tolerate the slogan and attacked the women by saying ‘’Who killed and you say a martyr’’. Despite the police attack, the women carried Garibe’s body on their shoulders and put to a hearse.
 
The mass then got into their vehicles and set out for Istanbul New Airport with the convoy.
