VAN - During the statement about the death of Doctor Rümeysa Berin Şen, HRFT Representative Sevim Çiçek and Van-Hakkari Medical Chamber Chairperson Hüseyin Yaviç were detained.

 

A statement was wanted to make in front of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaşı Hospital regarding the death of Doctor Rümeysa Berin Şen, who lost her life in a traffic accident on her way home after a 36-hour watch in the Çankaya district of Ankara. Citing the governorate’s ban on actions and activities since 2016, the police attacked health workers. The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (HRFT) Representative Sevim Çiçek and Van-Hakkari Medical Chamber Chairperson Hüseyin Yaviç were detained in the attack.

 

It was learned that Sevim and Hüseyin, who brought to the hospital for a health check, will be taken to the Van Provincial Security Directorate.
