Prisoner Emin Newroz Korkmaz, who is in Van F Type Prison, said in a phone call with his family yesterday that one ward in the prison was raided every evening and the prisoners were tortured.

 

Emin’s mother, Nevin Korkmaz, quoted her son as saying that many wards of the prison were raided. Stating, as Emin mentioned, that the pressures in the prison reached the torture dimension, Nevin said she was worried about her son’s life safety. Nevin called for sensitivity towards happenings in prisons.
