Violations in Urfa Prison on agenda of parliament

ANKARA - HDP MP Ayşe Sürücü brought the violations in Urfa Prison to the parliament’s agenda.
 
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa MP Ayşe Sürücü asked the Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül about the report shared by the Urfa Bar Association on the violations of rights in Urfa Prison.
 
‘There were met with 13 people’
 
In the parliamentary question, which stated that the violations of rights in prisons also increased during the processes which the impact of the coronavirus epidemic continued, it was noted that the fundamental rights of the prisoners in prisons were violated on the grounds of the pandemic. In the interviews held by the Urfa Bar Association with 13 prisoners, it was noted that violations in the prison increased.
 
The following questions were asked to Minister Abdülhamit Gül to answer:
 
*Will you provide necessary inspections in Şanlıurfa No. 1 and No. 2 T Type Closed Prison?
 
  *Will you meet the deficit of infirmary doctors and dentists in the prison?
 
  *Are you aware that meeting and phone rights are blocked?
 
  *Are you aware that the sick prisoners are not given their medicines?
 
  *Are you aware that the food is not fully cooked and there are hairs in it?
 
  * Are you going to make statement to the public on this matter?’’
