DİYARBAKIR - Women prevented DEDAŞ from putting the electricity meters on the poles in Silvan district. DEDAŞ, on the other hand, threatened women to ‘’come with the police’’.

Dicle Electricity Distribution Corp. (DEDAŞ) wanted to move electricity meters to poles in many provinces and districts of the region on the grounds of ‘’preventing illegal use’’. While one of the places where tension was occured was the Lice district of Diyarbakır in the past days, now the same tension is experienced in Silvan.

Women did not give permission to DEDAŞ who wanted to put the electricity meters on the Mescid and Konak Neighborhoods of Silvan and on Elmas Avenue to the top of the electricity poles. It was noted that DEDAŞ threatened to come with the police the next time they came, against the women’s refusal to allow them.

The women emphasized that if DEDAŞ comes again, they will prevent it.
