NEWS CENTER - RJAK diplomacy member Necbir Efrîn, who stated that the three members, who had been detained by the KDP public order for 23 days, were not allowed to meet with their lawyers and said: ‘’They do not allow women to live freely. They cannot benefit from the right to have a lawyer which is the most humane right.’’

Kurdistan Free Women’s Organization (RJAK) members Xewla Mihemed Hesen, Ciwana Abdulbaqî, and Seyran Ehmed were detained by the KDP public order in Hewler on their way back after attending the event held in Shengal to commemorate those who lost their lives on Yazidi Genocide. They have not been heard from for 23 days. While no statement has been made on the subject so far, women are prevented from meeting with their lawyers. RJAK diplomacy member Necbir Efrîn expressed their concern for the health of their members. According to the news of the Mesopotamia Agency (MA), Necbir stated that all the attempts they made for their members were remain inconclusive.

‘They cannot benefit from the right to have a lawyer’

Stating that their applications for interviews were rejected, Necbir said: ‘’Despite all obstacles, we are making an effort to reach our friends. Three of our friends are not in good health. Two of our friends are sick. We have not heard from the day they were detained. So far, neither their statements have been taken nor they have been taken to court. Our lawyers are prevented and sent back. They want to tire us with this. They are trying to illegalize the work of our friends. Lawyers are not even allowed to take power of attorney. They cannot benefit from the right to have a lawyer which is the most humane right.’’

‘Be the voice of our woman friends’

Underlining that this happened was against the law, Necbir said: ‘’The current power sees women as an obstacle to itself. The woman who leads is the problem for them. In order to remove this obstacle, they chose the woman as a target. That is why their attacks on us have increased. With these practices, they want to prevent the free women who lead the society and confine them to homes. This is completely arbitrary. The KDP administration wants to isolate women from all areas of society. They have a similar attitude to the AKP government. They do not allow women to live freely. They also attack the woman who rebelled against it. Be the voice of our woman friends. Let's protect them together. We need to take three of our friends away from this dominant male state.’’
