DIYARBAKIR - Women’s State of Solidarity Association starts its Women’s News Network Project trainings. The deadline for applications has been determined as July 15.

The Women’s State of Solidarity Association has prepared a Women’s News Network Project, which aims to ensure that a local, independent, and women-friendly alternative journalism is possible despite the fact that women are not sufficiently represented in the news and are subject to rights violations when they are represented. The trainings will be held for six months and seven courses with 20 participants who will apply from Diyarbakır, Batman, Urfa and Mardin.

The goal of the project

The project aims to enable women in the region to have their own news networks within the perspective of gender equality for the change and transformation of the rights violations that women and LGBTI+s face in the media and news, and the masculine language used.

How will the Women’s News Network Project like?

Due to the pandemic conditions, the training will take place online via Zoom. Training calendars will be notified to the participants one week in advance. The Women's News Network Project will take place in the form of training for 6 weeks, 2 days a week, and broadcasting news every 2 weeks for 11 weeks after the training. The training calendar will be shared with the determined participants until Saturday, August 1st.
