DİYARBAKIR - Regarding the attack on HDP and the murder of Deniz Poyraz, the Kurdistani alliance parties called for solidarity in a statement.

 

The Kurdistani Alliance parties issued a written statement regarding the attack on the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir Provincial Organization building in the morning of June 17 and the murder of Deniz Poyraz. In the statement, it was stated that the political language of the AKP and MHP government, which polarizes the society, feeds violence, and is full of grudge and hatred, is rewarded with a policy of impunity for violence directed against the opposition, especially the Kurds.

 

The following statements were included in the statement:

 

“The HDP, which derives its legality and formality from the Constitution and laws of this country, its legitimacy from the ballot box and its social base, and which has representation in the parliament as the 3rd largest party of this country, is declaring a ‘terrorist’ by the most competent people in power, especially the President and the head of the MHP, and the follower press. This is both a constitutional crime and the main perpetrator of this attack. 

 

Lawsuits for closure against parties engaged in politics on a democratic basis, unlawful prevention of new parties, keeping politicians hostage in prisons, dismissal of co-mayors elected with the legitimate votes of the people and appointment of trustees without any legal justification, denial of language and identity, assimilation and oppression policies are the main issues that it clearly reveals that it is intended to intimidate the Kurds, which goes beyond the HDP.

 

We will never kneel down before you

 

We received the message that the government wanted to give from its policies, the last link of which was the Izmir attack, and in response we say; We will never kneel down before you. We will not stop for a moment in our march for right, justice, and freedom. We will never obey your policies of denial, assimilation, and isolation. You should know well that; We will build courage in the face of the fear you have created, hope in the face of intimidation, freedom in the face of captivity, justice in the face of oppression, and life in the face of death. But we will never obey you. Although 24 hours have passed since the incident, we find it very meaningful that not a single sentence has been uttered by the President of this country and the Minister of Interior, who is primarily responsible for the security of everyone. The whole society knows very well what this means.

 

You have sown seeds of grudge and hatred

 

After this incident, the Chairperson of the AKP must explain the sentence of "'These are your better days, what will be more" after the lynching attempt against the Good Party Chairperson and her delegation in Rize a while ago. Messages of condemnation from the lower levels of power are crocodile tears. This attack is the fruit of the seeds of grudge and hatred you have sown. It is impossible to talk about rights, law, and justice on a ground where the law is made a threat of the power and the relations between the mafia-state-politics come to light.

 

We invite the forces of democracy to solidarity

 

This attack is a mass murder attempt against the organized and canceled meeting. As this attack is not a discrete incident, Turkey will be dragged into a deeper chaos unless the forces behind it are revealed. We strongly condemn the attack on HDP İzmir Provincial Organization. May God have mercy to murdered Deniz Poyraz, we express our condolences to our family. We invite all democratic forces and non-governmental organizations to solidarity and unity in the face of these attacks.”
