New group takes over hunger strike action

MAXMUR - The 79th group took over the ongoing hunger strike in Maxmur to end the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and to ensure his physical freedom.
 
The indefinite-alternating hunger strike led by the Ishtar Council in Maxmur Martyr Rüstem Cudi Camp to end the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan and to ensure his physical freedom has entered its 156th day. The 79th group took over the ongoing hunger strike in the Martyrs’ Families Council. Those on strike wore t-shirts with photographs of Abdullah Öcalan.
 
After a minute of silence on behalf of those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom and democracy, Eyşe Sipîndarok took the floor on behalf of the 79th group. Eyşe said: “Our aim is to ensure the physical freedom of our Leader and to live together. We congratulate and greet the resistance of all freedom prisoners. Success will be ours.”
 
While the action ended with the slogans "Bijî Serok Apo", "Bê serok jiyan nabe", "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" and "Bijî berxwedana gerîlla", the new group took over the strike.
