ISTANBUL - 256 people who were detained on May Day were fined a total of 888,000 liras on the grounds of "going out on the streets" in full closure.
 
256 people who were battered and detained while trying to go to Taksim Square on May Day were fined a total of 888,000 liras. The reason for the fine was shown as the lockdown in the "complete closure". 256 people, who detained, 247 of them were released after being questioned, nine of them were released from the courthouse where they were transferred, and eight people were released on judicial control.
 
In the written statement made by the General Directorate of Security, it was stated that 253 events were held in 74 cities between April 19 and May 1, 2021, with the participation of 11,378 people due to Labor Day.
