ISTANBUL - PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers made an application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, demanding to meet with their clients.

Lawyers of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was kept under isolation in İmralı High-Security F-Type Prison; Mazlum Dinç, İbrahim Bilmez, Nevroz Uysal, and Serbay Köklü made an application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to meet with their clients.

Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office imposed a six-month lawyer visitation ban on September 23, 2020, on the grounds of "Road Map" prepared in addition to Abdullah Öcalan's defense sent to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2009. Although the interview ban ended on March 23, neither a positive nor negative response is given to the applications made by the lawyers.
Rezan Sarıca and Nevroz Uysal, lawyers of Abdullah Öcalan, were able to meet with their clients after eight years on May 2-22, June 12-18 and August 7, 2019.

The conversation was interrupted

Abdullah Öcalan, who has been kept under isolation conditions in İmralı High-Security F-Type Closed Prison for 22 years, first benefited from the right of phone visitation on April 27, 2020. Abdullah Öcalan talked to his brother Mehmet Öcalan on the phone last March, as the public concerned about some posts on social media while the isolation policy imposed on him was continuing, but Mehmet Öcalan announced that this conversation was interrupted.
