25 women killed, minister said ‘there is a decrease’

NEWS CENTER - Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu said that 25 women were killed after the withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention and said, "there is a decrease".
 
In a statement through social media account, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu argued that there is no impact of the Istanbul Convention on the femicides. Süleyman Soylu, who claimed that there was a 26 percent decrease in the femicides in a month (March 20-April 20) following the withdrawal decision, also admitted that 25 women were killed in this process.
 
30 women lost their lives
 
According to the data compiled from the press and announced by the political parties and women's organizations, at least 30 women lost their lives as a result of male violence in a month after the decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention.
