ISTANBUL - The attorneys of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan made an application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for interviewing with their clients.

PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's attorneys Raziye Öztürk, Rezan Sarıca, Faik Özgür Erol, and Cengiz Yürekli made a new application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office with a request to interview with their clients.

The Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office imposed a six-month attorney visitation ban on September 23, 2020, on the grounds of the "Road Map" prepared in addition to Abdullah Öcalan's defense sent to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2009. Although the interview ban ended on March 23, neither a positive nor negative response is given to the applications made by the attorneys.

Rezan Sarıca and Newroz Uysal, attorneys of Abdullah Öcalan, were able to interview their clients after eight years on 2-22 May, 12-18 June, and August 7, 2019.

The conversation was interrupted

Abdullah Öcalan, who has been kept under isolation conditions in İmralı High-Security F-Type Closed Prison for 22 years, first benefited from the right to phone conversation on April 27, 2020. While the isolation policy imposed on Abdullah Öcalan continued, his brother Abdullah Öcalan was able to make a phone call with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on March 25, due to the growing public concerns through some posts on social media, but the conversation was interrupted.
