Songül Özgün who lost her life in Mardin buried

DİYARBAKIR - Songül Özgün, who lost her life in the conflict in Mardin’s Ömeryan region, was brought to Diyarbakır and buried after the identify made by her family.
 
After the military operation launched against People’s Defence Forces (HPG) members in the Omerîya (Ömeryan) region of Mardin on October 22, a curfew was declared by the governorate in the region. On the 4th (October 25) day of the operation, it was learned that Songül Özgün (Ruken), who was injured, and a HGP member, whose name has not been learned, lost their lifes in the conflict between the special operations police and the HPG in the rural neighborhood of Qurdîsê (Yaydere). It was stated that Özgün, who lost her life, and another HPG member whose name could not be learned were taken to the Mardin State Hospital morgue.
 
Songül’s family went to Mardin State Hospital in the morning to identify. The family, who was kept waiting in front of the hospital until the evening hours, took the body after the identify. The family took the body and brought to Diyarbakır. Family buried the body in Yeniköy Cemetery in Bağlar district after religious obligations.
