4 seriously sick prisoners on hunger strike for 15 days

İZMİR - Four seriously sick prisoners held in Menemen R-type Closed Prison have been on indefinite-irreversible hunger strike for 15 days demanding the right to healthcare access.
 
Seriously sick prisoners named Ergin Aktaş, Yusuf Bulut and two prisoners from Northern Syria named Dicle Bozan and Ehmedê Xemî, who have been held in İzmir’s Menemen R-type Closed Prison, have been on indefinite-irreversible hunger strike since April 20 to demand their right to healthcare access and to protect the approach and practices they have faced in the prison. Ergin Aktaş has difficulties to live on because he doesn’t have both hands. Dicle Bozan’s intestines have been taken outside of body for nine months and Dicle has been waiting for having an operation. Yusuf Bulut (68) has lived bedridden and Ehmedê Xemî is paralyzed in the lower half of the body.
 
Health condition of the prisoners are getting worse because they have been on indefinite-irreversible hunger strike since April 20 and their demands are only the improvement of the prison condition, to have the right to healthcare access.
