ŞIRNAK-Mothers living in Şırnak province stated that the aggravated isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan should be lifted immediately, “We will never accept a life without leader. No one should try to test the Kurdish people with this,” said the mothers and they called on the government to arrange a meeting with him before it is too late.

As the aggravated isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan has continued, the applications of his family and lawyers to see him have been rejected. In addition, the information about his safety was spread after the coup attempt on July 15, 2016, and in the past few days, several social media accounts shared posts saying he died. Thereupon, the Public Prosecutor of Bursa made a statement and said that the news were unfounded news. The Kurdish people and their friends, who say this statement is not enough for them, have begun to hold actions and protests in Kurdistan and Europe.

Mothers living inŞırnak province stated that they will never leave the streets until a meeting is arranged with the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Stating that the state responds to each peace demand with arrests and pressures, the mothers emphasized that a meeting should be arranged with him immediately.

‘We can never be free unless our leader is free’

Feride Malgaz, one of these mothers, emphasized that a meeting should be arranged with Abdullah Öcalan in order to end the chaos atmosphere immediately. Feride said, “No one should try to test the Kurdish people and women. Our leader is the red line for us. We don’t want anything from them except for freedom our leader. He is the leader of Kurdistan and the Kurdish people. Whenever we demand peace, they put us behind bars. We don’t want guerrillas and soldiers to die and mothers to cry anymore. We demand peace. We demand freedom and the rights we have.”

‘Şırnak, Cizre, Silopi don’t collapse’

Noting that they haven’t collapsed despite everything, Feride added, “They can do whatever they want but we will never collapse. Şırnak, Cizre and Silopi didn’t fall and they will never fall. We are here and we will be better. We will do our best against the isolation. As women, we will resist in everywhere to the end.”

‘If you want to overcome what happened in 1990s, a meeting should be arranged’

Hayat Uca stated that Abdullah Öcalan, who is the red line for the Kurdish people, should be released immediately and she added, “We will never accept a life without the leader. No one should test us. If they don’t want everything becomes like in 1990s, they should arrange an immediate meeting for Imralı Delegation, his family and his lawyers with him.”

‘Before it is too late…’

Stating that peace can only be ensured by lifting the isolation and providing freedom conditions for Abdullah Öcalan, Hayat said, “The chaos atmosphere is created due to the isolation. Peace can only be brought by lifting the isolation. They should take the demands of the people into account before it is too late. The people just want peace. We emphasize that a meeting should be arranged with our leader before it is too late.”
