URFA - Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar, who have been on the ‘’justice’’ vigil in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 165 days, announced that they will carry their struggle to Ankara and said: ‘’We are pursuing justice. We will not give up’’.

Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed as a result of the attack of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız’s bodyguard and relatives, and Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack with injuries, have been on ‘’justice’’ vigil in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 165 days. The mother and son, who came in front of the courthouse in the early hours of the morning, started their vigil in the area called ‘’Şenyaşar family justice corner’’.

Ferit Şenyaşar called for a joint struggle to the families who are fighting for ‘’justice’’ in different provinces and stated that they continue their struggle in front of the courthouse under persecution. Ferit said: ‘’There has been a sensitivity towards our struggle for justice all over Turkey. Although some national media organizations do not see us, parliamentarians and non-governmental organizations are aware of us. There are many people from all segments who are exposed to injustice like us. There are tens of cases such as Rabia Naz, Umuda Gündüz, Mısra Öz, Soma and Suruç cases.’’

‘Our common demand is justice’

Emphasizing that the common demand of the families is ‘’justice’’, Ferit said: ‘’We continue our struggle in front of the Urfa Courthouse because it is a judicial recess. When the judicial recess is over, we will carry this struggle to Ankara. We will come together with families who have suffered injustice like us and make our voices louder. I am calling on all people who have suffered injustice from here: Come, our demand is common, let’s shout together so that the law of the superiors will come to an end.’’

‘We are pursuing justice’

The family shared the following on Twitter, tagging the accounts of the Ministry of Justice, Urfa Provincial Security Directorate, Agency Urfa and the General Assembly of the Parliament: ‘’The law does not give right to make a massacre by member of the parliament and his family. All of Turkey, especially the people of Urfa, are following this persecution in front of the courthouse. We are pursuing justice. We will not give up!’’
