ANKARA - Ümitcan Uygun, the prime suspect in the killing of Aleyna Çakır, was released from the prison where he was held.
 
Ümitcan Uygun, who exposed Aleyna Çakır to violence and was held responsible for her killing, was released from prison where he was held for six months. Hayri Çağatay Cengiz, the lawyer of Ümitcan Uygun, who was detained on charges of "Using and Publicly Encouraging the Use of Drugs and Stimulants", announced that his client was evacuated.

A lawsuit was filed against Ümitcan Uygun for the forced entry into the house of Aleyna Çakır, who allegedly committed suicide in June 2020 in Ankara, on charges of "threatening and violating the immunity of domicile".Ümitcan Uygun was arrested on January 11 on the charge of "using and promoting the use of drugs and stimulants".
