ANKARA - HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan filed a criminal complaint about MHP Vice Chairperson and Istanbul MP Semih Yalçın, who targeted her.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan filed a criminal complaint against MHP Vice Chairperson and Istanbul MP Semih Yalçın, through lawyers, to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In the petition, which was reminded that Pervin had politically responded to Devlet Bahçeli, who targeted the HDP at every opportunity and gave instructions to the judiciary, Semih Yalçın's insulting words against Pervin were included.
In the petition, which states that Semih Yalçın committed a crime according to Articles 215 and 216 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK), the following demand was made:

“For the reasons we have explained; We request, by proxy, that an indictment be drawn up, demanding that an investigation be initiated and punished immediately, in accordance with the above-mentioned and ex officio law articles, against E. Semih Yalçın, who tries to create an untrue perception in the public, attacks the honor and dignity of our client with abstract allegations and open insults, and attacks her moral personality.”

What happened?

In his speech at the group meeting of his party on Tuesday, MHP Chairperson Devlet Bahçeli used the term "terrorist" for Deniz Poyraz, who was killed by Onur Gencer in the armed attack on HDP İzmir Provincial Building. Pervin Buldan had used the words "He made a language union with the murderer" in response to Devlet Bahçeli's words at the Parliamentary Group Meeting. Two days after Pervin's speech, MHP's Semih Yalçın made a series of posts on his Twitter account, targeting Pervin and verbally attacking her.
