Call to ‘turn to Shengal’ to Êzidîs staying in camp

NEWS CENTER - In the fire that broke out in the Sharia Camp, where Êzidîs are staying, 400 tents were burned, and six people were injured. The Shengal Democratic Autonomous Assembly called on the Êzidîs to "turn to Shengal".
The fire, which broke out as a result of sparks from the electric wires in the Sharia Camp, where Êzidîs are staying, in Duhok city of the Federated Kurdistan Region, was extinguished as a result of long efforts of firefighters. It was reported that 400 tents were burned, and six people were injured. After the fire, the residents of the camp stated that the fire was not intervened in a timely manner. It was stated that the camp administrators were dismissed due to the reactions.
It was stated that in the Sharia Camp, where 12,000 Êzidîs are staying, 1000 people were left without a tent as a result of the fire. It was stated that Êzidîs whose tents were burned would go to their relatives.
Call to ‘turn to Shengal’
Making a statement after the fire, Shengal Democratic Autonomous Assembly (MXDŞ) emphasized that it is their primary duty to protect the families damaged in the fire. The statement that stated that they were ready to welcome them in Shengal continued as follows: “We are sad for the fire that broke out in the camp. We closely follow the situation of our people. We call on everyone to turn to Shengal. We are ready to mobilize all our means to meet our citizens whose tents were burned. We see it as our duty to support our families.”
