ISTANBUL - PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers made a new application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to interview with their clients.

Mazlum Dinç, İbrahim Bilmez, Nevroz Uysal and Serbay Köklü, lawyers of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan, made another application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to interview with their clients.

Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office imposed a six-month lawyer visitation ban on September 23, 2020, on the grounds of the "Road Map" prepared in addition to Abdullah Öcalan's defense sent to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2009.

Although the visitation ban ended on March 23, neither a positive nor negative response is given to the applications made by the lawyers.

Rezan Sarıca and Nevroz Uysal, lawyers of Abdullah Öcalan, were able to interview with their clients after eight years between 2-22 May, 12-18 June, and August 7, 2019.

The phone call was interrupted

Abdullah Öcalan, who has been kept under severe isolation conditions in İmralı High-Security F-Type Closed Prison for 22 years, first benefited from the right of phone call on April 27, 2020. Abdullah Öcalan had another phone call with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on March 25, as public concerns grew due to some posts on social media. However, Mehmet Öcalan had announced that this phone call was interrupted.
