ELAZIĞ - Instead of initiating an investigation into the suspicious death of journalist Yeldana Kaharman, the head of the organized crime organization Sedat Peker pointed to Mehmet Ağar, the Elazığ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office defended the previous "no place for prosecution" decision.

The debates that started after Sedat Peker, the head of the organized crime organization, blamed former Interior Minister Mehmet Ağar on the suspicious death of journalist Yeldana Kaharman one day after he went to the house of AKP MP Tolga Ağar in Elazığ on March 28, 2019. Then Elazığ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office made a statement regarding Yeldana.

The ‘no place for prosecution’ decision was defended

In the statement, "There has been a need to make a press release to inform the public correctly about the news and posts about the death of the Kazakh national Y.K. in some media organizations. Within the scope of the investigation carried out by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, it was understood that the deceased Y.K. died due to asphyxia as a result of the crime scene investigation, the death examination and autopsy process and the witness statements heard. It was determined that there was no person who incited the deceased to commit suicide, encouraged her to commit suicide, or helped her suicide in any way, and it was decided that there was no place for prosecute on 16/10/2019."
