NEWS CENTRE - At least 46 people were detained in house raids in many cities in Turkey and Kurdistan.
Within the scope of the investigation launched by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and Bitlis based investigation, many houses were raided in many cities including Istanbul, Ankara, Bedlis, Amed, Yalova, Mersin, Mêrdîn.
House raids in Istanbul
An investigation initiated by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention warrant for 44 people on the allegations of ‘financing an illegal organisation’ and ‘being an illegal organisation member’. House raids are organised in many districts of Istanbul in the morning hours through the investigation. It is learned that at least 35 people are detained in house raids. It is learned that 35 people are kept at Istanbul Provincial Security Directorate in Fatih, while 9 people are wanted for detention warrants. It is stated that lawyer visit restriction for 24 hours is imposed for detentions.
Detention warrants were issued for 33 people in Ankara on the allegations of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’. In this context, house raids were organised in many districts. DEM Party members Nurettin Bilir, İlkay Çelik, Taner Öztürk and Sümeyye Bilici, who is known to be pregnant, were detained in Mamak, Batıkent and Çankaya districts. Journalist Zuhal Atlan was also detained and taken to Ankara TEM branch.
House raids in Bedlis, Amed, Yalova
Eleven people were detained in house raids in Tûx, Xelat and Xîzan districts of Bedlis, Mersin, Amed and Yalova.
On the other hand, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his digital media account that 176 people were detained in 31 provinces.
