Tent action for Abdullah Öcalan in Shengal

NEWS CENTER - The Free Yazidi Women’s Movement and the Yazidi Young Women’s Union initiated a seven-day tent action with the demand to be ensured the freedom of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The Free Yazidi Women’s Movement (TAJÊ) and the Yazidi Young Women’s Union announced that they launched a seven-day tent action in the Serokati Garden in Geliyê Kersê with the demand to be ensured the freedom of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. They announced that they also launched this action with the demand to be removed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) from the terror list.
Members of the Zorava and Guhbel People’s Assemblies and tens of Yazidi women participated to the action, and posters of Abdullah Öcalan and banners with the slogans ‘’We Will End the Isolation, We Will Defeat Fascism, We Will Live Free with Leader Apo’’ were hung to the tent. Abdullah Öcalan’s Arabic and Kurdish books were also distributed in the tent.
The tent action started with a moment of silence. TAJÊ spokesperson Sebiha Sebri touched upon the purpose of their actions and said, ‘’As the Yazidi community and women from Shengal, we want to convey our voices everywhere with this action. It is the PKK movement, which adopts the ideas of leader Abdullah Öcalan, that saved us from a genocide edict’’.
Regarding the demands for the PKK to be removed from the terror list, Sebiha said, ‘’The students of leader Apo defeated the ISIS gang with their resistance. The PKK comes to the rescue of all societies who face with the danger of genocide. The biggest example of this is Shengal’’. She also asked, ‘’How can the concept of terror be used for such an organization?’’
After the speech, there was carried out a cinevision screening that about Abdullah Öcalan’s physical freedom.
