New meeting application from Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers

ISTANBUL - Lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan applied to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, requesting a meeting with their client.
The lawyers of Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan; Raziye Öztürk, Faik Özgür Erol, Rezan Sarıca and Cengiz Yürekli, made a new application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, requesting a meeting with their client.
No response to applications
Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office imposed six-month meeting ban on September 23, 2020, on the grounds of the ‘’Road Map’’ prepared by Abdullah Öcalan in addition to his defense submitted to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2009. Again, in the applications made by the lawyers, it was revealed that a new disciplinary punishment was given to Abdullah Öcalan in January 2021.
Rezan Sarıca and Newroz Uysal, two of Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers, last met their clients on May 2-22, June 12-18, and August 7, 2019, after eight years.
The last conversation was interrupted
Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held under heavy isolation conditions in the Imralı High Security F Type Closed Prison for 22 years, was given the right to call on the phone for the first time on April 27, 2020. Abdullah Öcalan talked to his brother Mehmet Öcalan on the phone again on March 25, when public concerns grew due to certain posts in the digital media, but Mehmet Öcalan stated that this conversation was interrupted.
