	JINNEWS, which began publishing with the motto “In pursuit of truth with women's pens,” has entered its eighth year. The agency, which continues to be the voice of women, is expanding the tradition of free press despite all the pressure and obstacles.

	 

	The legacy of women's journalism

	 

	While the male-dominated system tried to confine women within four walls, women never gave up their struggle to create their own living space. This determination began with JINHA in 2012 and continued with Gazete Şûjin. After both institutions were shut down by decree, women journalists continued the legacy of truth they had inherited by founding JINNEWS on September 25, 2017.

	 

	The name of the resistance: JINNEWS

	 

	Since its inception, JINNEWS has made visible violence against women, suspicious deaths of women, and the resistance of migrant women at border gates. It has given voice to women working at home, in the fields, and in factories; it has fought against all forms of crime against children, guided by ethical publishing principles; and it has covered the people's resistance against ecological destruction. At times, it has been subjected to threats, police violence, and prosecutions for exposing perpetrators. However, no attack has been able to stop JINNEWS' insistence on the truth.

	 

	The answer to the question, 'What do women say?'

	 

	Women journalists, who never ceased their resistance in the field, raised the question, “What do women say?” against the male-dominated system. Thanks to women who pursued the truth with their pens and cameras, JINNEWS became not just an agency, but the name of the struggle for truth.

	 

	Multilingual broadcasting, united struggle

	 

	JINNEWS, which publishes in Kurdish, Turkish, Zazaki, and English, has become the voice of women in Kurdistan who are ignored, murdered, and imprisoned. It has brought the struggle of working women exploited in Turkey and the women pioneers of the Rojava Revolution to the world. It continues to amplify the cries of those shouting “Jin, jiyan, azadî” in Rojhilat and the voices of women resisting feudalism and imperialism in South Kurdistan.

	 

	The claim of truth

	 

	JINNEWS, which began its publishing life with the slogan “In pursuit of truth with women's pens,” continues to claim to add a new voice and face to the tradition of free press against the male-dominated system's press language. In its eighth year, JINNEWS continues to grow this claim and resolutely carries forward its mission of being the voice of peace and democratic society.
