Murderers of women should not be part of the Syrian leadership 2025-02-05 12:04:03       Mîdye Miqted   HELEB - The representatives of political parties, who made assessments on the reconstruction of Syria, emphasised the role of women in all fields and gave the message ‘We do not accept women murderers in the new government’.   The Syrian Future Party organised a workshop titled ‘Where is the future of Syria heading?’ Representatives from 17 parties from all cities of Syria attended the workshop held at the Media Hall in Ashrafiye neighbourhood of Heleb.   Women who attended the workshop spoke to JINNEWS.    ‘We presented and listened to our views’   Kewser Doko, Co-Chairman of the Syrian Future Party, said: "In this workshop, we brought together all political parties in Syria to discuss the situation of the new Syria. Many politicians, intellectuals and jurists were also present here. The important thing for us was to present our vision for the new Syria."   Building a decentralised Syria   Kewser Doko emphasised the need for Syria to achieve a democratic government in the future and continued as follows "For a century, Syria was oppressed under a dictatorial regime that ignored the will of the people. Syria must now have a democratic system. One of our most fundamental principles is to build a decentralised Syria. Our work continues in line with this principle."   Aim of the workshop   Kewser Doko emphasised the importance of the workshop where women's issues were discussed and said: "This is the first workshop organised across Syria. The views that emerged are only the beginning. We want to continue such workshops and achieve results in line with common goals. Everyone in Syria needs to live together in peace and develop a common vision in economic and political fields. The new constitution should include the views of youth, political parties and all segments of society. Only in this way can we build a new Syria."   ‘A democracy without women is not a real democracy’   Underlining that women should have an important role in the construction of the new Syria, Kewser Doko said: "If a new country is to be built and women do not take part in this process, this country cannot be democratic and free. The Syrian people need to end the current dictatorship."   ‘Murderers cannot rule the new Syria’   Kewser Doko, who expressed his discomfort with the inclusion of the people who took the blood of the people in the new government, used the following expressions: "Damascus announced its new government a few days ago. Unfortunately, the murderers who took the blood of the people took part in the new government. In particular, Hatim Ebo Sheqra, who played a direct role in the murder of Hevrin Xelef, and Ebo Emsha, who played an active role in the looting and pillaging in Afrin, were included in the new government. We do not accept the participation of these people in the government in any way and we reject them. We will fight against their presence. Murderers cannot rule the new Syria."   ‘Women murderers took part in the administration’   Zelox Rashid, a member of the Syrian Future Party, commented on the workshop: "Many political parties presented and shared their views on the vision of the new Syria. However, when the new government was announced, we saw that names known for their massacres were included in the administration. For example, Hatim Ebo Sheqra, who murdered Hevrin Xelef, Secretary General of the Syrian Future Party, was also included in the government. In addition, names such as Ebo Emsha, who is known for the crimes committed against the people of Afrin, also took office."   ‘The absence of women in management is worrying’   Zelox Rashid stated that the absence of women in the new government is a big problem and added "The fact that there is no place for women in the new government is a source of great concern for society. Therefore, we must act together and take a clear stance against this situation. Because we do not accept the inclusion in the new government of people who have taken the blood of the people and especially women."   ‘Women should not be left behind’   Zelox Rashid emphasised that women should take part in every field and concluded her words as follows "It was women who paid the highest price during the Syrian revolution. It was also women who fought the biggest struggle. For this reason, women should not be left behind, they should take part in every field. If a real democracy is to be built, women must be given the necessary role. Because the Women's Defence Units (YPJ) played the biggest role in the fight against ISIS. Therefore, women must also take part in the writing of the new constitution. By acting together, we must reach a common view that takes into account the interests of all Syrian people."
