NEWS CENTER - Şerife Penahi, mother of the Kurdish political prisoner Ramîn Hisên Penahi who has been sentenced to death by the Iranian regime, sent a letter to Federica Mogherini and called to stop the execution.

 

The Kurdish political prisoner Ramin Hossein Panahi was arrested last year and sentenced to death by "Islamic Revolutionary Court" for "combating the Islamic government". His mother Şerife Penahi sent a letter to Federica Mogherini, the EU's foreign and security policy representative, and she is calling to stop the execution.

 

Şerife wrote in her letter; “This is a letter from a mother living in a small town in Iranian Kurdistan. A mother whose heart fills with fear every day, a part of her heart is executed after Ramadan. Do you understand what this means?

 

I am a mother has disconsolate heart. My wounds haven’t been healed for three years. For many years, I have followed my children who speak of law and justice. But everything is forbidden here. What I experience today is like a hell.

 

‘Do everything to prevent this catastrophe’

 

I'm sure you heard the name of Ramin Hossein Panahi. Even if Ramin had made a mistake, the verdict against him must not be execution. Am I right with what I said? Ramin is a political activist. They want to execute him because they have built a system of lies. I demand you to meet with those responsible in Iran and stop the execution of Ramin and to provide the conditions for him to be tried by the European Court of Justice. Because of my little son Ramin every day is hard for me. Put yourself in my position. Do everything to prevent this catastrophe. I'm sure you can do something. I want you to make serious effort to stop this decision. Do not allow Ramin to be executed."
