Women from every walk of life become candidates of HDP

ANKARA - Female representatives from different peoples, beliefs and socialist structures have taken part in the HDP’s list of candidates to be submitted to Supreme Electoral Council for the elections to be held in Turkey on June 24.
 
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) has finalized its list of candidates for the elections to be held in Turkey on June 24. Mezopotamya Agency (MA) says female representatives from different peoples, beliefs, left and socialist structures in Turkey, dismissed academics, workers, journalists and artists have taken part in the party’s candidate list.
 
HDP Co-chair Pervin Buldan has become candidate for Istanbul; the HDP Deputy Group Chair Meral Danış Beştaş has become candidate for Van province. HDP MP Feleknas Uca, known with her Ezidi identity, has become the party’s candidate for Batman province. Hüda Kaya, known with her Islamic identity, has become candidate for Istanbul again. The Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-spokesperson Gülistan Koçyiğit has become the party’s candidate for Muş province while jailed Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven has become the candidate for Hakkari province.

Socialist Assemblies Federation (SMF) member Dilşad Canbaz and Halkevleri (Community centers) member Oya Ersoy have become candidates for Istanbul. Socialist Party of Refoundation Co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları has become candidate for İzmir province.
 
HDP Group's Deputy Chair Filiz Kerestecioğlu, known with her feminist identity, has been nominated as a candidate for Ankara; HDP Women's Assembly Spokesperson Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir has been nominated as a candidate for Ağrı.
 
Remziye Tosun, who was stuck in Diyarbakır’s Sur district with her two months old daughter Beritan Tosun during the curfew imposed in the district, has been nominated as a candidate for Diyarbakır by the party.
