Obligation to ‘display flag’ on shopkeepers in Dargeçit!

MARDİN - The shopkeepers in Dargeçit district have been obliged to display flags in their workplaces. The shopkeepers say they have been forced to display Turkish flag in their workplaces and they report that they were first warned and then the shopkeepers were fined for not displaying the flag in their workplaces.
 
The trustee appointed to the Dargeçit Municipality has allegedly imposed obligation on the shopkeepers to display Turkish flag in their workplaces. The district turned into like an open prison, the workers of the municipality were fired and village guards were hired following the appointment of the trustee.
 
Municipal police officers threaten the shopkeepers
 
As the government pressure is increasing day by day in the district, the appointed trustee Municipality has allegedly imposed obligation on the shopkeepers to display Turkish flag in their workplaces. The local sources said, “After the appointed trustee, the municipal police officers tell the shopkeepers ‘You will display flag’. The shopkeepers have been fined for not displaying Turkish flag.”
 
Indicating that they have been forced to display Turkish flag, the shopkeepers said, “Before they forced us to display Turkish flag on July 15. But now they say we have to display flag every day. The municipal police officers first threaten when they see the shopkeepers, who don’t display the flag and then they impose fine. We earn little money and the municipal police officers take this money from us. They say this is the order of the appointed trustee.”
