DİYARBAKIR - Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Women’s Assembly and Free Women’s Movement (TJA) members gave carnations to women in four districts of Diyarbakır province for Mothers’ Day.

 

Women gave carnations to women in four districts of Diyarbakır for the Mothers’ Day led by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Women’s Assembly and Free Women’s Movement (TJA). HDP districts Co-chairs, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peace Mothers supported the distribution of carnations in Yenişehir, Sur, Bağlar and Kayapınar districts.

 

The women gathered at the Public Market located in İplik Neighborhood of Yenişehir district and distributed the carnations. Police didn’t allow the women to chant the slogan “Roja dayika pîroz be (Happy Mothers’ Day).

 

HDP Yenişehir Co-chair Demet Özkara commented on the police barrier and said, “They don’t allow us to celebrate the Mothers’ Day. We aren’t allowed to say mother in Kurdish. But we will continue our works.”

 

Peace Mothers and women visited the market and workplaces and distributed carnations despite the rain.
