Thousands march in Shehba to protest isolation

SHEHBA - Displaced people of Afrin held a mass march in Shehba with the motto, “We will break the system in İmralı with the resistance of the ages”. Thousands people joined the march protested the attacks and the isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Members of the Kongreya Star, Shehba Canton and Afrin Canton Democratic Autonomous Administrations, Families of Martyrs’ Assembly, many representatives of democratic organizations and thousands of people joined the march organized led by the Movement for a Democratic Society (Tevgera Civaka Demokratîk, TEV-DEM). The people carried the pictures of Abdullah Öcalan and the flags of TEV-DEM, Kongreya Star, YPJ and YPG and banners reading “Russia and Turkey change the demography of Syria”, “The people of Shehba will not stop until the invasion in Afrin ends” and “Shehba and Afrin are same” during the march started in Shehba’s Tilkirah village.
 
The people marched until Serdem Camp and held a rally there. After one minute’s silence, Aldar Xelil made a speech on behalf of TEV-DEM and Shehba Assembly Co-chair İmad Davut made a speech on behalf of Shehba Democratic Autonomous Administration. Emine Dingili made a speech on behalf of Kongreya Star and she said, “The people, who resisted in Afrin for days, showed everyone that no one should underestimate the will of the Kurdish people. This message was openly given. The people of Afrin have settled in Shehba to not be away from Afrin and to return Afrin for their struggle. As Kurdish women, we will keep our struggle for freedom to the last drop of blood. We promise our martyrs. We promise to break the isolation imposed upon Abdullah Öcalan.”
 
After the speeches, the rally ended.
