Winners of 21st Metin Göktepe Journalism Awards

ISTANBUL - Winners of Metin Göktepe Journalism Awards, given for 21st time this year, have been announced. The Special Jury Award has been given to Özgürlükçü Demokrasi Newspaper, which a trustee has been appointed to.
 
The Metin Göktepe Journalism Awards was established in April, 1998 in honor of daily Evrensel correspondent Metin Göktepe who was brutally killed under police custody on January 8, 1996 in Istanbul. The winners of the 21st Metin Göktepe Journalism Awards have been announced.
 
Journalist Bülent Ceyhan has been awarded to Written Journalism Prize for his article published by tr724.com on killing of teacher Gökhan Açıkkollu following attempted coup on July 15. Özgen Bingöl has been awarded to Best News Video Award.
 
Award to the photographs of March 8
 
Tamer Arda Erşin has been awarded to Photography Award for his photographs took during the celebration of March 8, International Women's Day in Ankara.
 
This year, the jury was composed of Belma Akçura, Berkant Gültekin, Celal Başlangıç, Çiğdem Toker, Elif Görgü, Erol Önderoğlu, Fikret İlkiz, İnan Kızılkaya, Kamil Tekin Sürek, Kumru Başer, Melis Alphan, Nazan Özcan, Nazım Alpman, Turhan Günay.
 
Award ceremony will be held at Nazım Hikmet Culture and Art House of Şişli Municipality on April 10, 2018, the birthday of Metin Göktepe.
