AFRÎN - As the mobilization against the attacks on Afrin is going on, the women saying “This is a resistance of the people” cook for YPG/YPJ fighters.

As the attacks of Turkey on Afrin Canton of the Northern Syrian Democratic Federation have entered the 23rd day, the people have declared mobilization in every sphere of life. The women saying “This is a resistance of the people” cook for YPG/YPJ fighters.

‘Success is absolute’

Women living in Mahmudiye Neighborhood located in old Afrin gather a different house each day and they begin to cook in the morning until very late.

62-year-old Reşîde Elî considers what they are doing as “back front of the resistance.” She said, “Those who are fighting and protecting their lands are our children. As our sons and daughters are fighting, we cook for them. This resistance will reach absolute success because the people from all ages resist.”

‘Our children resist on frontline, we resist here’

Zekiyê Emîr (45) answered our question while cooking. She said, “Turkey and its leader Erdoğan launch a total war against us and we are in total resistance. They should know very well that this resistance cannot be defeated. Our children resist on the frontlines and we resist here.”

Birîvan Ebdo is another woman cooking for the fighters. She said, “These lands are our holy lands. Those who have desire to take these lands from us will understand they are wrong sooner or later. We stand by our children; our lives are not worth more than theirs. If necessary, we can fight. If necessary we can cook. But we will not allow anyone to enter here (Afrin).”
