SHEHBA - “Erdoğan shouldn’t mention our name, as Turkmen people we don’t want him,” said Turkmen women, who were forced to leave their villages due to Turkish attacks following the atrocity of Daesh.

Turkmen people, who have been remembered to be used only for a political argument by Turkey since the beginning of civil war in Syria, witnessed Turkish attacks after their villages had been invaded by Daesh gangs. Then Turkmen people took shelter in safe areas under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Turkmen women’s husbands and children have taken part in the defense forces of the Northern Syria Northern Syrian Federation to not be displaced again. The women believe in the idea living together and building a joint future together.

‘He has children's blood on his hands’

Halime Hiseyn is one of these women, who live in Shehba after being forced to leave Çobanbeyli due to first attacks of Daesh and then Turkish attacks. “I am from Çobanbeyli. I am Turkmen. We fled from there due to the atrocity of Erdoğan and we took shelter in Shehba. And now Erdoğan is hitting us here,” Halime said, “He hits our children. He says, ‘We hit fighters’ but all are lies. We are civilians here and our schools are hit. He has children’s blood on his hands.”

Zelha El Maha fled from El Bab due to same reasons. Stating that she is a Turkmen woman, Zelha said, “We lived in El Bab. First the soldiers of Daesh came and then Turkish soldiers. We barely escaped our lives.”

‘Erdoğan shouldn’t mention our name’

Reacting to the attacks on Afrin and Shehba, Zelha said, “Now we are here and they hit here. Whole world should hear they are killing children, children are dying in Shehba. Whole world should know this. Erdoğan shouldn’t mention our name. As Turkmen people, we don’t want him.”

Heyriye Hesen fled from Rai five years ago due to the attacks of Daesh. “Daesh came to our village and we fled from there. And now the gangs of Erdoğan are hitting us,” said Heyriye.

‘They are bombing the children of Syria’

“Erdoğan tells Esad ‘You are child killer, you are killing the children’. He took the Syrian people to his country and then he built a wall. And now he is bombing the children of Syria. He is sending the gangs to Afrin and Shehba. He kills children and civilians, some of them become permanently disabled, some of them lost their arms. Everyone should see this,” said Heyriye

Noting that the peoples of Syria will resist against all attacks, Heyriye said, “We will not give our cities even if they are razed to the ground like in Kobanê, our children will defend us.”
