SHEHBA - Women of Shehba organized a protest for Barin Kobanê whose body was mutilated and then displayed by Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) and they said, “Her path is our path.”

Barin Kobanê lost her life in the Qurde village of Bilbile during the attacks of TSK and FSA on Afrin. Turkey-backed groups mutilated the body of Barin and shared a video on social media.

Barin Kobanê was born in Qar Kelbîn village of Shehba Canton. Women issued a press statement in Barin’s home town Shehba to show they stand up for her memory and to condemn the attacks.

Kurdish, Arab, Turkmen and Albanian women unfurled the poster of Barin and cousin of Barin and Shehba Kongreya Star member Meha El Omer read the statement.

Stating that Barin was originally from Kobanê but she was born in Shehba because her family had moved from Kobanê to Shehba, Meha said Barin had joined the YPJ and fought for women’s freedom since the beginning of Rojava Revolution.

Indicating that Barin fought heroically in Kobanê and Raqqa against Daesh gangs, Meha El Ömer said, “Barin is our honor, the enemy unable to cope with her will and fearless resistance tried to give a message to all women by torturing her body. These inhuman attitudes of the gangs grow anger of women against invaders.”

“Barin was a Kurdish fighter, she defended her lands, the invaders were even afraid of her body,” Meha said, “We give her our word. Her resistance will continue stronger. The resistance of women like Arin Mirkan, Avesta Xabur encourages and strengths us. Their cause is our cause, their path is our path. The invaders will be defeated and the resistance will win in Afrin.”
