Reaction from people of Meydana to attack on Afrin: They will go not us

AFRÎN - “Resistance is great, they will go not us,” said the people living in Meydana district of Afrin under attacks.
 
Meydana district and its villages are among the places hit by warplanes and artillery shelling since beginning of attacks on Afrin. The people in the region expressed their anger against the attacks and stated that the people are being tried to be displaced by warplanes and artillery shelling.
 
‘We hold our head high, our strength is strong’
 
Leyla Beyrem noted that Turkish warplanes have shelled the areas where the children and women live for 15 days. Stating that they know what is the purpose of shelling the areas where civilians live, Leyla said, “Turkish army is targeting the civilians and their houses. They impose the surrender on the Kurdish people but no one will surrender. We hold our head high, our strength is strong.”
 
A student named Ronahî Reşîd meanwhile said, “They have attacked Afrin with warplanes, artillery and howitzers for days. These attacks didn’t achieve their purpose and they will not. We don’t leave our lands and we won’t. These lands are ours not theirs.”
 
Meydana Peoples’ Assembly Co-chair Mehmûd Reşîd pointed out the attacks targeting the civilians in the district. Mehmûd said, “Attacks of Erdoğan and his gang is an invasion attack against Afrin and Syria. SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) forces have displayed a historic resistance against these attacks. Everyone should see that and stand up for this resistance.”
