UNICEF: At least 11 children killed in Afrin

NEWS CENTER - Fran Equiza, UNICEF Representative in Syria, said they received reports saying about at least 11 children were killed in Afrin.
 
Fran Equiza, United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Representative in Syria, said they have received reports saying about at least 11 children were killed in in Turkish attacks on Afrin. Fran said, “Is the world becoming numb to the killing of children? A question we never thought we would have to ask.
 
Fran said that families in Afrin are fleeing to other areas within the district, seeking protection in camps already crowded with over 125,000 previously displaced people, living in shockingly difficult conditions and exposed to harsh winter weather.
 
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based monitoring group, said at least 38 civilians have been killed in Afrin since January 20.
 
Health Committee of Afrin Canton has released a statement and said at least eight children were killed and 13 children were wounded in the attacks yesterday.
