ANKARA - Police attacked the ‘We want our jobs back’ action on Yüksel Avenue and detained six people.
 
The hunger strike launched by educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça has continued for 314 days while “We want our jobs back” action on Ankara’s Yüksel Avenue has entered its 434th day.
 
Police didn’t allow the protesters to enter Yüksel Avenue while the protesters were gathering in Konur Street to make a statement in front of the Human Rights Monument. The protesters unfurled a banner reading, “The hunger strike is on its 314th day, Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated”. Police attacked them and detained Nazan Bozkurt, Erdoğan Canpolat, Mehmet Dersulu, Cemal Yıldırım, Barbaros Aslan and İlker Işık.
