ANKARA - Five people have been detained on the 411st day of “We want our jobs back” action held on Yüksel Avenue, Ankara.

The hunger strike launched by educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça has continued for 291 days while the “We want our jobs back” action has continued despite the attacks of police in its 411st day.

Police didn’t allow the protesters to make a statement in front of Human Rights Monument located on Ankara's Yüksel Avenue. The protesters thereupon gathered in Konur Street and unfurled a banner reading, “Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated”, “Release Nazife Onay”, and “To want their jobs back is not a crime”. Then, protesters shouted slogans of “Nuriye and Semih are our honor”. Police attacked and battered them and detained five of them.
