Êlî Temel Culture and Art Center closed down by appointed trustee

MARDİN - Ahmet Odabaşı, who was appointed to Kızıltepe Municipality as a trustee, has closed down the culture and art center opened in memory of Kurdish singer Ali Temel. 
 
Ahmet Odabaşı, who was appointed to Kızıltepe Municipality as a trustee, has closed down the culture and art center opened in memory of Kurdish singer Ali Temel. The appointed trustee gave an order the signboard of the culture center to be removed and closed down Ş. Êlî Temel Culture and Art Center. Hundreds of students had baglama, guitar, theater, painting, violin, erbane and folk dancing courses every year in the culture center opened on July 22, 2013. 
 
Who is Ali Temel? 
 
Ali Temel was jailed and sent to Diyarbakır Prison in 1981. After being released from prison in 1990, he released his first record called “Rozerin”, a song composed by him, along with Koma Çiya (A Kurdish musical group). He worked for art and culture department of Özgür Ülke daily for a while. He has never forgotten for his song called “Şitla Azadî” written for Ferhat Kurtay, Necmi Öner, Mahmut Zengin, Eşref Anyık, who burned themselves in Diyarbakır Prison and Zekiye Alkan, who burned herself on Diyarbakır bastions. Ali joined the PKK and he died after exploding the bomb on him during a clash broke out in a rural area of Mazıdağı on July 13, 1994.
