Northern Syria Federation election results announced

QAMISHLO - The Supreme Election Board of the Northern Syrian Federation has announced the results of elections held in Northern Syria on December 1st, 2017. “The citizens voted freely in Syria and Middle East for the first time,” said the board and stated that 69% of people participated in the election.
 
Official results of the “Local Council” elections held in Cizre, Euphrates, Efrîn regions on December 1st have been announced by the Supreme Election Board in a press conference. The results were announced by Emine Hisi, Co-chair of the Supreme Election Commission of Euphrates Region and İzedin Ferhan, Co-chair of the Supreme Election Commission of Cizre Region. Ruken Mele İbrahim, Co-chair of the Supreme Election Commission of Cizre Region, and Şahin Eli, Co-chair of the Supreme Election Commission of Euphrates Region, were present at the press conference.
 
The Supreme Election Board stated that each list will have the right to submit an objection to the Supreme Election Board within three days starting from today and that the peoples of Northern Syria held these elections based on their resolve to find a solution to the Syrian crisis by fortifying the basis of Democratic Federation of Northern Syria after seven years of conflict, saying; “The local government elections (Cantons, districts and towns) were held in three regions of Northern Syria on December 1st. The citizens went to the polling stations as of early morning hours and cast their votes. They have voted freely in Syria and the Middle East for the first time.”

Cizre Region
 
Democratic Nation Solidarity List: Out of 2902 candidates, 2718 have been elected.
 
Syrian Kurdish National Coalition List: Out of 99 candidates, 40 have gained a seat.
 
Independent candidates: Out of 268 candidates, 144 have been elected.
 
Euphrates Region
 
Democratic Nation Solidarity List: Out of 954 candidates, 847 have been entitled to enter the councils.
 
Syrian Kurds Alliance List: Out of 124 candidates, 40 have been elected.
 
Independent candidates: Out of 95 candidates, 67 have gained a seat.
 
Efrîn Region
 
Democratic Nation Solidarity List: Out of 1175 candidates, 1056 have been elected.
 
Syrian Kurds Alliance List: Out of 48 candidates, 8 have been elected.
 
Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party: Out of 197 candidates, 72 have been elected.
 
Independent candidates: Out of 68 candidates, 40 have been elected.
